Former Turkish premier passes away at age 86
Turkey's Yıldırım Akbulut, who served as both prime minister and parliament speaker, passed away on April 14 in Ankara, the Turkish capital. He was 86.
A parliamentarian for nearly two decades - from 1983 to 2002 - Akbulut had been receiving treatment at Ankara University Hospital.

Court issues subpoena for former Turkish prime minister in 1997 coup case
An Ankara court has issued a subpoena for former Prime Minister Tansu Çiller in a case into the harsh army-led campaign that forced the resignation of Turkey's government in June 1997 - an event known as the "Feb. 28 process."
The calendar in Erdoğan's mind
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the chair of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) from the day it was founded on Aug. 14, 2001, until he resigned on Aug. 27, 2014, because he was elected the president, registering a total of 13 years and 13 days. He is back as the chair of AK Party after 998 days.

Talking about President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an?s performance on impartiality, yes, there are exceptional, faulty movements. For him to stand at rallies with the Quran in his hand is a propaganda fault. It is also another fault in impartiality for him to deliver speeches at town rallies during election time.

12 political parties withdraw from June 7 elections
A total of 12 political parties have withdrawn from the June 7 parliamentary elections in Turkey, with 11 of them not submitting their lists of nomination candidates by April 7.
Eleven of the 31 political parties which were eligible to enter the elections on June 7 did not submit their lists, automatically disqualifying them from the election ballot.
