Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Road Transport Corridor begins operation
A welcoming ceremony was held on Oct. 8 by the Turkish Trade Ministry in Istanbul after the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Road Transport Corridor Project successfully carried commercial cargo on Pakistani trucks to Turkey.
The trucks departed Sept. 27 from Karachi and reached the Turkish metropolitan city of Istanbul on Thursday, covering 5,300 kilometers (3,293 miles).
Second wave of coronavirus cuts Turkey's exports in Nov
Turkey's exports were down slightly on an annual basis in November due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU's economic contraction, and calendar effects, according to preliminary data Turkey's Trade Ministry released on Dec. 2.
Turkish exports hit $16.1 billion last month, a fall of 0.95% year-on-year, the data showed.

Ankara to seeks new trade deal with post-Brexit UK
Turkey's Trade Ministry on Feb. 1 announced it was seeking new trade channels with the U.K. during the Brexit transition period.
Brexit negotiations between the EU and the U.K. concluded on Nov. 14, 2018, and a deal was reached on the withdrawal of the agreement, which took place on Jan. 31, 2020.

Turkish trade deficit widens in October
Turkey's foreign trade deficit rose sharply in October, according to an official preliminary data released on Nov. 2.
Last month, Turkey's trade deficit increased by 13.8 percent, climbing to $4.15 billion from $3.6 billion, the same month last year, Turkey's Trade Ministry said in a report.
