22 companies go public in first half
Some 22 companies have launched initial public offerings (IPO) in the first half of 2023, data from the Central Securities Depository (MKK) have shown.
Those companies raised a total of 26.4 billion Turkish Liras from the IPOs in the January-June period, according to MKK.
In the whole of 2022, 40 companies went public, raising 19.3 billion liras through IPOs.

Stock market transaction volume more than doubles
Turkish stock exchange markets' transaction volume increased by 2.5 times to hit a record 5.2 trillion Turkish Liras (around $700 billion) in the first quarter of 2020.
The main reason behind the sharp increase in the volume registered in the first quarter was the transactions carried out by local investors, said a report by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB).

Stock market sees $700 bln transaction volume in first quarter
Turkey's stock market saw a transaction volume of 5.18 trillion Turkish liras (around $700 billion) in the first quarter of this year, according to fresh data revealed by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TCMA).
According to the association's figures on July 24, the trading volume increased by 2.5 times year-on-year in the January-March period.
2021 could be year of IPOs for BİST, says official
As 700,000 domestic investors opened accounts at Borsa Istanbul (BİST) in 2020 and foreign investor flows returned since early November 2020, well over 20 initial public offerings (IPOs) can take place this year, according to the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB) head Tevfik Eraslan.

New CEO named to Borsa Istanbul
Halk Investment CEO Murat Çetinkaya was elected as the new CEO of Turkey's main stock exchange Borsa Istanbul, replacing Osman Saraç, during the bourse's 4th Ordinary General Board Meeting on June 8.
Borsa Istanbul Chair Himmet Karadağ has kept his position.

Number of gold savers doubles in Turkey
The number of people in Turkey opting to save in gold has doubled over the last three years to around 25 percent of the population, although 42 percent of Turkish citizens still do not save at all, according to a new survey.
