President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on Monday to discuss bilateral relations and various global and regional issues, according to the Turkish Communications Directorate.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke over the phone on Sunday with his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, discussing tensions between the African country and its neighbor Ethiopia.

Ankara will continue to support the dialogue process in Venezuela, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday.


In a phone call with Maduro, Erdoğan wished that the elections may "lead to auspicious results for Venezuela," according to a statement by the Turkish Communications Directorate.


Turkey has become the latest country to offer firefighting aircraft to Greece to assist in the battle against wildfires across the country.

The neighboring country will provide two amphibious firefighting aircraft and a firefighting helicopter.

Talks for the Swedish bid to join NATO will continue in the coming period, a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate has said, following a key meeting for the Nordic state's accession to the alliance.
