Demolition of 15 more structures in Cappadocia starts
Authorities on Feb. 16 began demolishing illegal structures in the famous Cappadocia region in the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir.
The move came after Nevşehir Governor İlhami Aktaş said the demolition of 15 structures that "were already built or were being built" adjacent to the world-famous "fair chimneys" would start on Feb. 16.

The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry will restore part of Istanbul's ancient city walls surrounding Topkapı Palace with a budget of 25 million Turkish Liras ($5.1 million), as they have been become a crime scene for illegal activities for many years now.
12 'Gypsy Girl' mosaics return to Turkey from US
The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry signed an agreement on May 14 with Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Ohio in the United States for the return of 12 ancient Zeugma mosaic pieces looted during illegal excavations in Turkey's southeastern province of Gaziantep nearly 50 years ago.

Discussion on Kilia idol continues
Lawyers who represented Turkey in the Kilia idol case in the New York District Court will make a presentation on Sept. 25 about the return of the idol, which has been smuggled from Kulaksızlar in the western province of Manisa's Akhisar district and found a buyer for $14.5 million in a recent auction, to Turkey.

15 new martyrs' monuments to be erected in Turkey's Gallipoli
Fifteen new martyrs' monuments will be erected in the northwestern province of Çanakkale (Dardanelles), a historic location which witnessed the Battle of Gallipoli in 1915, as part of a competition conducted by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry.

The world-renowned British actor and radio presenter Larry Lamb and his son, radio and television presenter George Lamb, will introduce Turkish history, archeology and culture on a TV show, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
