A Turkish academic has become a jury member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) award at the seventh International Documentary Festival held in Greece between Aug. 21 and 28.

Turkish movie "In the Shadows" (Gölgeler İçinde) has been given an award in an international film festival held in Los Angeles.

The awards of the 22nd Golden Ball Film Festival, which was held between Sept. 14 and 19 last year in the southern province of Adana, were presented at a ceremony held during the weekend in Istanbul. The ceremony was postponed because of the country's current clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
