Turkish intel captures key ISIL figure on Istanbul church attack

Turkish intelligence has apprehended an ISIL suspect accused of orchestrating a deadly assault and providing guns for it earlier this year at the Santa Maria Italian Church in Istanbul's Sarıyer district.

The attack on Jan. 28 killed a Turkish man and was claimed by ISIL-K shortly after the assault.

Montenegro extradites gang leader to Türkiye

The Montenegrin authorities have extradited Binali Camgöz, the head of an İzmir-based criminal syndicate, to Türkiye following an extensive diplomatic effort led by the Turkish intelligence agency.

Camgöz, wanted in Türkiye for an array of serious offenses, including homicide, drug trafficking, assault, extortion and property damage, fled to Georgia in 2018.

Police nab relative of ISIL’s ex-leader in Kırşehir

Turkish counter-terrorism units have apprehended a relative of former ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the central province of Kırşehir.

The security forces initiated the operation, acting on intelligence that a relative of al-Baghdadi, who has been engaged in terrorist activities on behalf of the organization, was in Kırşehir.

Turkish crime boss arrested in Athens

Greek police have arrested a Turkish national, the suspected leader of a criminal group wanted by Ankara for a range of crimes including manslaughter, Greek police and intelligence sources said on Wednesday.

Police acted on an international warrant and arrested the 29-year old man on Friday last week following an initial tipoff by the Turkish intelligence service.
