Honorary cycling tour completed in capital
Starting from the Central Anatolian province of Sivas, a total of 100 cyclists have finished a bicycle race held to honor the establishment of modern Türkiye a century ago.
The race, organized by the Presidency with the participation of 100 athletes from 16 teams in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, started on Aug. 1.

Turkey marks 102nd anniversary of Sivas Congress
Turkey marked the 102nd anniversary of the Sivas Congress on Sept. 4.

"Today, we take every step with the sense of commitment to the decisions taken at the Sivas Congress, which form the basis of the Republic of Turkey," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a statement.

Erdogan disputes Treaty of Lausanne
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan indicated that Ankara “gave away” Aegean islands to Greece under the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923, the pact that defined the borders of modern Turkey following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. In a speech to regional officials in Ankara on Thursday, Erdogan expressed his regret for the border decisions imposed by the pact.
