Turkish deputy FM calls for Israeli accountability, highlights OIC's role

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yılmaz emphasized the need for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government to be held accountable for human rights violations and massacres in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.

Yılmaz attended the 50th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Turkish parliament to host Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas

 Türkiye announced on Wednesday plans to invite Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to address its parliament.

"If there are no setbacks in the coming days, we will invite Mr. Abbas to the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, where he will present the Palestinian cause before the members of parliament," Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said.

AKP says Abbas planning visit to Türkiye

The ruling Justice and Development Party has said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is planning to visit Türkiye, without specifying a particular timeframe.

Abbas could not accept Ankara's innovation and travel to Türkiye due to health issues, AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik said during a press conference on July 29 in the capital Ankara.

Turkish parliament passes stray animal bill

The Turkish parliament ratified a controversial bill regarding the handling of stray dogs early July 30 following hours-long debates amid criticism and protests.

The ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) 17-article proposal was endorsed by the general assembly after 28 hours of deliberation over two days, after it garnered commission approval last week.
