Apple, Facebook, Google vs. Trump on travel ban

Dozens of top tech companies — including Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter — have filed a joint legal brief arguing against President Donald Trump’s travel ban.
The brief was filed late Sunday with the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in support of an ongoing lawsuit against the ban.

Bulk collection of telephone metadata is unlawful, according to the US Court of Appeals. This decision paves the way for full legal action to be taken against the US’ National Security Agency.

 

Judges also spoke into the years-long debate over the controversial Patriot Act, which was set in place after and because of the 9/11 attacks.
