Donald Trump on Wednesday became the third U.S. president in the 245-year history of the United States to be impeached as the House of Representatives formally charged him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, as Reuters reports, "in a historic step that will inflame partisan tensions across a deeply divided America".

George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign aide who was a key figure in the FBI's Russia probe, filed paperwork Tuesday to run for the US House seat being vacated by Democrat Katie Hill.
Papadopoulos didn't immediately comment, but on Sunday he tweeted, "I love my state too much to see it run down by candidates like Hill. All talk, no action, and a bunch of sellouts."

A meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and US President Donald Trump, scheduled for Tuesday evening in New York, was canceled after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House of Representatives will launch a formal inquiry into whether Trump should be impeached.
