Albania Prosecutors Probe Opposition's US Lobbying Payments
Following a BIRN Albania investigation, Albania's General Prosecutor on Thursday said the Tirana District Prosecutors had opened an investigation into the Democratic Party's acounts about how much it had spent on US lobbying companies.

Kandic Faces Life in US for Assisting ISIS
US authorities on Wednesday charged Mirsad Kandic, a legal permanent resident of the US, with providing material support and resources to Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS.
He faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, the US Department of Justice said.

Bitcoin fraud suspect wanted by US, Russia appears in Greek court
A Russian suspected of masterminding a money-laundering operation using bitcoin appeared in a Greek court on Friday for a hearing to consider his extradition to the United States.
Alexander Vinnik was arrested in a hotel in northern Greece in late July on a US warrant. Russia has since also requested his extradition on separate fraud charges, his lawyer Xanthippi Moisidou said.

Kosovo Alleged ISIS Hacker Appears in US Court
Ardit Ferizi was detained in Malaysia last October for allegedly hacking into a computer database and passing information about US security staff to Islamic State radicals.
Ferizi was extradited from Malaysia and appeared on Wednesday in a US court in Virginia facing terrorism charges. If found guilty, Ferizi could face 35 years in prison.

Guantanamo Ex-prisoners Sent to Bosnia, Montenegro
The US Justice Department on Thursday announced it had sent two released prisoners from the Guantanamo camp to Bosnia and Montenegro as they had nowhere to go. One had Bosnian citizenship, having fought there in the 1990s.
