North Macedonia Ruling Party Elects Dimitar Kovacevski as Leader
Dimitar Kovacevski, who is the current deputy Finance Minister in Zoran Zaev's government, won more than 37,000 of just over 44,000 votes in internal Social Democratic Party leadership elections on Sunday, leaving the other two candidates, Frosina Remenski and Jovan Despotovski, far behind.
Macedonia MPs Approve Amnesty for Parliament Attackers
All 95 MPs who were present at Tuesday's session in Macedonia's 120-seat parliament voted in favour of the controversial amnesty legislation.
The opposition VMRO DPMNE MPs joined the majority led by the Social Democrats in supporting the law, despite the fact that there amendment aimed at expanding the scope of the amnesty to all participants was rejected earlier in the day.

Macedonia Court Rejects Motion to Scrap 'Name' Referendum
Macedonia's Constitutional Court voted by seven to two on Wednesday against an initiative that called for a assessment of the constitutionality and legality of parliament's decision on July 30 to call for a referendum on the Greek-Macedonian "name" deal.
Protest in Skopje against name deal; president won't sign it
The citizens who gathered in front of the Macedonian Assembly blocked a boulevard and several nearby streets, while the police was deployed to guard the building, MIA agency reported.
Plusinfo website said that a Molotov cocktail that did not cause a fire was thrown at the police, as well as several bottles, while a stun grenade was also activated.
