The Spor Toto Super League's surprise leader, Başakşehir, will hope to grab the symbolic title of winter champions when it travels to Adanaspor on Dec. 24 while also maintaining its unbeaten start to the season.

Spor Toto Super League leader Medipol Başakşehir refused to allow Beşiktaş to overtake it atop the table in an exciting draw between the top flight's last two unbeaten teams during a Nov. 26 match at Beşiktaş's Vodafone Arena.

"We are sad that we missed out on the win but happy to keep the lead," said visiting Başakşehir coach Abdullah Avcı after the game.

Istanbul's Medipol Başakşehir, which has surprisingly accumulated the best record of any Turkish Super League in the first 11 weeks over the last 13 years, will take on its closest rival, Beşiktaş, on Nov. 26 with an eye to putting more distance between themselves and the chasing pack.

Istanbul underdog Medipol Başakşehir thrashed Akhisar Belediyespor 5-1 at home on Oct. 30 to remain atop the Turkish Spor Toto Super League, as its closest rival Beşiktaş dropped two points against Gençlerbirliği in Ankara.
Başakşehir has won seven of its first nine games of the season, remaining unbeaten for the past 18 matches from last season. 

Istanbul club Başakşehir is determined to remain the leader of the Spor Toto Super League as it prepares to host Akhisar Belediye on Oct. 30.

This year's surprise club Başakşehir, under former Turkish national coach Abdullah Avcı, remains unbeaten in the league with six victories in eight weeks, and is leading Beşiktaş on goal difference.

The Turkish league will resume this weekend after a one-week hiatus for World Cup 2018 qualification games, with all eyes on Medipol Başakşehir, which remains at the top of the standings after six match days.

The Istanbul side, which has played more than 300 games under coach Abdullah Avcı, will take on Atiker Konyaspor, another well-disciplined side, on Oct. 16.

Turkish Spor Toto Super League leader Medipol Başakşehir stormed Mediterranean resort city's Aytemiz Alanyaspor on Oct. 2, taking another step toward proving that it is not the rabbit in the marathon but a merciless serious title contender.

Başakşehir maintained its perfect record in league play and replaced Galatasaray atop the Spor Toto Super League standings after Sept. 10's games.

Galatasaray was held to a 1-1 draw in Kayseri and slipped to third place, while the new leader enjoyed a 3-1 home victory against Kasımpaşa. 

Beşiktaş beat 10-man Karabükspor 3-1 at home to climb to the second spot.
