Two agreements on the establishment of a military base in Qatar and the training of the Qatari gendarmerie by Turkey have been moved forward on the agenda of the general assembly in parliament. This move was done upon a ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) parliamentary group proposal. It was ratified at the speed of lightning and is now in force. 

Immersed tunnel, bridge to be built in Turkey's İzmir: Minister

An immersed tunnel and a bridge will be built in the Aegean province of İzmir, Transport Minister Ahmet Arslan said on May 24, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Speaking at the second Roads, Bridges and Tunnels Fair in İzmir, Arslan said an underwater tunnel and a bridge would be built in the province as part of a new project. 

Turkey warned Wikipedia over content, demands it opens office: Minister

Turkey has warned online encyclopedia Wikipedia, blocked by the country's telecommunications watchdog two weeks ago, over what it says is content creating a perception that Turkey is supporting terrorist organizations, Transport Minister Ahmet Arslan said on May 11.

Turkish gov't asks US to be out of flight ban list

Turkey sent a letter to the United States demanding its removal from a group of eight countries that are subject to a ban preventing aircraft passengers from bringing electronic devices larger than a cellphone with them as carry-on luggage, one day after Britain joined the U.S. in tightening airline security on flights from Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.
