New trees planted in Istanbul's Taksim Square as part of landscape project
A total of 20 new trees were planted in Istanbul's symbolic Taksim Square by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality late on June 1, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Previously, 30 trees were planted by municipality teams as part of a landscape project in Taksim. A total of 50 trees were planted, including 10 plane trees, 18 oak trees, 17 linden trees and five olive trees.

Trees will be planted in Istanbul's symbolic Taksim Square after ongoing construction works, Beyoğlu district mayor Ahmet Misbah Demircan said on May 28, daily Habertürk reported.
Demircan said there would be trees in Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue, while adding that there were infrastructural differences between putting up trees in parks and squares.

Tragedy revealed after three children died due to fire in Istanbul
Three children died due to a fire in their house in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district on March 18, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The fire erupted on the top floor of a four-floor building. Police officers said the children were locked in their apartment as their mother was not in Istanbul and their father, who is a construction worker, was at work.

Crowds flock to site in solidarity after Beşiktaş terror attack
Crowds rushed to the site in solidarity after a deadly double bomb attack hit central Istanbul outside Beşiktaş's Vodafone Arena Stadium late on Dec. 10.
People shouted slogans and placed carnations at the scene, where 38 people, of whom 30 were police officers and seven were civilians, lost their lives. At least 155 people were wounded in the attack.
