Brussels – Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša is among the EU leaders attending a summit in Brussels on Thursday dedicated to tackling the Covid-19 pandemic, post-pandemic economic recovery, migrations, and relations with Russia and Turkey. Janša did not make a doorstep statement or take questions from reporters on arrival in Brussels.

Ljubljana – The parliamentary Commission for Oversight of Public Finances urged the government on Thursday to resume STA funding as set down in a coronavirus relief law in three days. A Culture Ministry official meanwhile announced that the ministry would like the funding dispute to get resolved and was thus drafting a decree.

Ljubljana – Slovenian and Croatian football legends played a charity match on Saturday in the Croatian town of Petrinja to raise funds for the area that was hit by a devastating earthquake at the end of last year. The Croatian Red Cross was handed out a donation of EUR 50,000, the Slovenian Football Association (NZS) said.

Ljubljana – The shareholders of energy group Petrol appointed new supervisors on Monday and voted against a proposal to take legal action against the former management for alleged damages over multiple high-profile transactions.

Two current supervisors – chief supervisor Sašo Berger and Mladen Kaliterna – received new terms.
