Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko announced on Monday that his country now hosts dozens of Russian nuclear weapons, as part of a broader agreement with Moscow for the deployment of Russia's latest hypersonic missile, the Oreshnik.

Ukraine has called on Belarus to withdraw its troops from their shared border, accusing Minsk of amassing forces in the Gomel region under the pretense of military maneuvers. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has urged Belarus not to make "tragic mistakes" under pressure from Moscow.

Belarus has bolstered its military presence along its border with Ukraine, deploying aircraft, air defense systems, and weapons. This follows President Aleksandr Lukashenko's recent announcement that he had sent nearly a third of Belarus's armed forces to the region.
