Gazprom Says Will Build Only Russia-Turkey Leg of Turkish Stream

Gazprom deputy head Alexander Medvedev has said the Turkish Stream project will initially be carried out only as a pipeline between Russia and Turkey.

This means only the first of four parallel lines that had been planned earlier will be constructed as a start, but it does not mean the energy giant has abandoned the idea to make deliveries to Russia, Medvedev has made clear.

Turkish Stream Could Suffer Delays, Russia Energy Min Admits

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has said construction of the so-called Turkish Stream gas pipeline might begin later than planned.

There is a risk not to start building the pipeline's first section on schedule the intergovernmental agreement is not signed in time, Novak is quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.

Russia's Gazprom has said all commercial conditions for a contract with Turkey's state-owned crude oil and natural gas pipeline company Bota? had been agreed. 

"The price might be agreed to by the end of June," said Gazprom deputy head Alexander Medvedev on June 9, as quoted by Reuters.

Interior minister forms team to investigate NIS sale

BELGRADE - Serbia's Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has formed a special team to investigate the sale of the oil company Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS), which was once owned by the government.

NIS was privatised in late 2008 when Russia's Gazprom Neft bought 51 percent of the company, while the remaining 49 percent of shares were distributed for free to the Serbian people.
