Former police chief arrested in Ankara wiretapping case
A former police chief of Turkey's eastern province, Bitlis, has been detained in Ankara as part of an illegal wiretapping case. Ankara 5th Court of Peace ruled ?n June 22 for the arrest of Sadettin Akgüç, as part of an Ankara-based probe into illegal wiretapping allegations.
Ten people arrested on charges of illegal wiretapping
Ten people were arrested and fifteen were released on probation by an Ankara court May 15 on charges of illegal wiretapping a total of 48 people, including politicians, journalists and businessmen.
25 people detained in case into illegal wiretapping
Twenty-five people were detained out of the 34 people for whom warrants were issued by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of illegal wiretapping early on May 11, Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
