Kenya's Korir wins Paris Marathon

Mark Korir of Kenya won the Paris Marathon on April 12, his first career victory in a prestigious international race.
      
Korir, 30, who was second in last month's Paris Half-Marathon, came home in a time of 2hr 05min 46sec, ahead of another Kenyan, Luka Kanda.
      
Seboka Tola of Ethiopia was third, with yet another Kenyan, Mike Kigen, fourth.
      

Moroccan, Ethiopian athletes win Istanbul marathon

Athletes from Morocco and Ethiopia on Nov. 16 won the 36th Vodafone Istanbul Marathon, dubbed “the only intercontinental race in the world.”

Hafid Chani won the men’s competition, finishing the 42-kilometer course in two hours, 11 minutes and 53 seconds, becoming the first athlete from Morocco to win the race in its history. Chani will a $50,000 prize for finishing first.
