Julianne Moore led the stars onto the first Toronto film festival red carpet in two years on Sept. 9, as the movie adaptation of Broadway smash hit "Dear Evan Hansen" finally reopened North America's biggest movie gathering.

Around 500 Australians and New Zealanders commemorated the fallen soldiers on the Gallipoli peninsula in the western province of Çanakkale early on April 25 with a dawn service, marking the 102nd anniversary of the landing of Allied troops during World War I.

Dreamy musical "La La Land" took home best movie at the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, putting it in the box seat for the much-anticipated Oscars next month.

The movie beat industry favorites and leading Academy Awards contenders including coming-of-age tale "Moonlight", stylish alien thriller "Arrival" and visceral family drama "Manchester by the Sea."    

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the blockbuster superhero flick, leapt for a second straight week to the heights of the box office -- although with greatly diminished ticket sales, industry estimates showed on April 3.

The world premiere of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was held in New York on March 20 under the sponsorship of Turkish Airlines (THY).

Coming-of-age drama "Boyhood" emerged triumphant Jan. 11 at the Golden Globes, Hollywood's first major awards show, where celebrities vowed solidarity with France after the Paris attacks.        

The 14th !f Istanbul Independent Films Festival will run between Feb. 12 and 22 in Istanbul and between Feb. 26 and March 1 in Ankara and ?zmir. The opening film of the festival will be master director Tim Burton?s latest film ?Big Eyes,? which will make its premier in Turkey.
