BELGRADE - Serbian PM-designate Ana Brnabic said on Thursday she was hoping the parliament would support her and that she would have the honour of becoming PM.

"I cannot wait for those protocols to end. That is not the part of work I enjoy," Brnabic said in an address at the constitutive session of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) group in the parliament will later in the day put in parliamentary procedure a bill amending the Law on Ministries, SNS official Nebojsa Stefanovic said Thursday.

Croatia's Globus magazine writes that Aleksandar Vucic has made "a strong, but equally intriguing and challenging move" when he nominated Ana Brnabic for PM.

BELGRADE - The election of Aleksandar Vucic as president and the choice of Ana Brnabic as PM take Serbia towards the EU and continued reforms, but a political climate is needed where the government and the opposition will listen to each other and stop rejecting proposals just because they come from the other side, says Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia Arne Sannes Bjornstad.

BELGRADE - PM-designate Ana Brnabic will face three crucial tasks, says Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The first one is "a successful completion of the seventh International Monetary Fund review, which is not so easy. We are embarking on the last stage of making a decision on salary increases," Vucic told the RTS late Tuesday.

Ana Brnabic will be in charge of the economy and Ivica Dacic of politics - the situation is new, but the attempt to balance between Russia and the West is old.

This is according to US analyst Daniel Serwer, cited by Voice of America.

Consultations about the forming and the composition of Serbia's next government are now in the final phase, state broadcaster RTS reported on Thursday.

According to the report, a majority of 156 members of the Serbian National Assembly ("people's deputies") has been secured to vote Ana Brnabic's cabinet in.

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic said Tuesday she expected the new government to be elected at the end of next week - by June 30 at the latest.
