MEP Kaili to remain in prison
A Belgian court has rejected an application from Greek MEP Eva Kaili to be released from pre-trial custody, following a hearing before the Court of First Instance in Brussels.
She can appeal the decision to keep her detained, the federal prosecutor's office said in a statement.

World’s oldest known person dies aged 118
The world's oldest known person, French nun Lucile Randon, has died aged 118, a spokesman told AFP on Jan. 17.
Randon, known as Sister Andre, was born in southern France on Feb. 11, 1904, when World War I was still a decade away.
She died in her sleep at her nursing home in Toulon, spokesman David Tavella said.

Over 90k people at News Year's Eve show in Bucharest's Constitutiei Square
More than 90,000 persons attended the New Year's Eve show downtown Constitutiei Square organised by the Bucharest City Hall, a release by the mayoralty sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday reads. The event dubbed "Revelion 2020. Disco Night Fever" brought the hits of the 80s and 90s and of the beginning of the 2000s.

The music hits of the 80s - 90s will be live at the biggest party between years in Bucharest - "New Year's Eve 2020. Disco Night Fever" - organized by the Capital City Hall in the Constitution Square on December 31. Among the artists who will take to the stage, on Tuesday, on the last day of the year, starting 6:00 pm, there are O-Zone, Haddaway and Milli Vanilli.
