Leaders meet on sidelines of forum in China
In a bid to defuse tensions that have been rising since last September, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. Greek officials said it was a step in the right direction and that Tsipras focused on ways to improve bilateral ties.

Premier pledges frequent contact with Thessaloniki

Supermoon lights up the Parthenon
The full moon rises over the Parthenon in Athens Monday. The splendid supermoon - whose technical name is perigee-syzygy of the Earth-moon-sun system insist - was the biggest in the last 68 years, according to scientists, who say that the last time the moon was this close to Earth was in January 1948 and that the next time will not roll around again until November 2034.
