New Grammy categories include Africa-specific music
The 2024 Grammy Awards will feature new honors including for Best African Music Performance, the Recording Academy announced on June 13.
Along with the prize honoring a recording that uses "unique local expressions from across the African continent," the 66th edition of the prestigious music awards will present a trophy to Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.

President Iohannis, among world leaders attending Armistice Centennial ceremony in Paris
AGERPRES special correspondent Florentina Peia reports: President Klaus Iohannis was among the over 70 world leaders who attended on Sunday at the Arch of Triumph in Paris the ceremony of the Centennial of the Armistice that put an end to the WWI hostilities.

The 57th annual Grammy Awards, broadcast on Sunday night from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, had it all, without buts… unless you exclude Madonna’s butt that stole the show. The 56-year-old singer showed up in a see-through black mini dress by Givenchy that particularly showed off her bust. She offered the paparazzi the full view.
Africa’s diva at Jazz festival
Called âAfricaâs premier divaâ and âthe undisputed Queen of African Music,â Angelique Kidjo will take the stage July 14 at Feriye Restaurant in Ortaköy. The concert will be organized as part of the 21st Istanbul Jazz Festival.
