The Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders, along with foreign ministers of the three guarantor states Turkey, Greece and Britain, came together for open-ended discussions on the future of Cyprus in the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana on June 28. The five-party talks are a continuation of the attempt that first commenced on Jan. 12 under the auspices of U.N.

EU, US engagement needed for key Cyprus conference
The Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders, Mustafa Akıncı and Nikos Anastasiades, will meet in Crans-Montana, Switzerland on June 28. The meeting comes after strong pressure from U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Gueterres to hold another conference in order to bring the two parties closer to a breakthrough with the participation of three guarantor countries: Turkey, Greece and the United Kingdom.

Turkish, Greek FMs to meet in New York ahead of Cyprus talks
Turkey and Greece's respective foreign ministers, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Nikos Kotzias, will meet in New York to discuss the Cyprus reunification talks in Geneva next week, Turkish diplomatic sources have said.
Both Çavuşoğlu and Kotzias are in New York to separately meet new U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Gueterres, with the former set to meet the new chief on Jan. 5.
