Six ISIL militants killed after rocket projectiles hit Turkey's Kilis: Army

Six militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed on May 3 after two rocket projectiles hit the border province of Kilis.
Turkish artillery units responded to the attack by shelling ISIL positions and firing multiple rocket launchers after unmanned aerial vehicles spotted that the rockets came from the Suran region of Syria. 

One killed, two wounded after rockets from Syria hit Turkey's Kilis

One person was killed and two others were wounded when two Katyusha rockets fired from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) controlled territory in Syria hit the souteastern border town of Kilis on May 2.

One of the rockets hit Kaz?m Karabekir neighborhood around 7.10 p.m., causing a fire to erupt in a house close to the scene. The fire was put out by the fire department. 

Turkey foiled 49 suicide, car bomb attacks since January

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmu? said that Turkey has foiled a total of 49 suicide bombing or car bomb attacks by terror groups upon intelligence since January.

"A total of 85 major terror attacks, 49 of which were suicide or car bomb attacks, were prevented upon intelligence since January," he said after a cabinet meeting under President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.

Iconic Turkish pop singer Tarkan married one of his fans, P?nar Dilek, on April 30, his publicist has announced.      
The marriage ceremony took place in the garden of the 43-year-old singer's home in Istanbul, a statement from PRO Iletisim, a Turkish PR agency, said.

The wedding reception will be held in the coming days, the statement added.      

Worker wounded in armed attack in Turkey's north

One worker was wounded in an armed attack targeting a dam construction site on May 2 in the Black Sea province of Gümü?hane.

Unknown assailants carried out an armed attack with long-barreled weapons on workers at the hydro-electric power plant (HES) construction site at Ya?mak Dam in the province's Kürtün district at around 11 p.m. 

Man hit by police water cannon dies in Istanbul's Taksim

A man hit by a water cannon security vehicle (TOMA) died in Istanbul's Beyo?lu district on May 1, Do?an News Agency reported.

The 57-year-old Nail Mavu? was hit by a TOMA while crossing the street in the Tarlaba?? area of Beyo?lu, near Taksim Square.  

The heavily wounded Mavu? was taken to a hospital in Istanbul's ?i?li district, where he succumbed to his wounds. 

Syrian military calls temporary 'regime of calm' in parts of country

 A "regime of calm" will be enforced in parts of Syria's Latakia and Damascus regions from 1:00 a.m. (2200 GMT) on April 30, a Syrian military statement said on April 29. 

It will last for 24 hours in the Eastern Ghouta region east of Damascus and in Damascus, and for 72 hours in areas of the northern Latakia countryside, the statement from the Syrian Army General Command said.
