Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was not seeking to conquer, occupy or rule Gaza after the war against Hamas, but that a "credible force" would be needed to enter the Palestinian territory to prevent the emergence of militant threats.

The evacuation corridor is still open

The Imam Hussein Brigade, an Iran-backed militia, is relocating from Syria to southern Lebanon to bolster Hezbollah forces, according to an announcement by an Israeli military official. The move follows a series of setbacks for Hezbollah in recent clashes with Israel.

Israel has launched what it calls "an operation to expose and neutralise" tunnels between Lebanon and Israel allegedly dug by armed group Hezbollah, reported Al Jazeera. 

The operation was announced by the Israeli military on Twitter on Tuesday.
