No country can underestimate Turkey’s international struggle to counter the threats to the country’s security, Doğan Group Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan said on feb. 15 at this year’s first meeting of the Doğan Media Group’s Publishing Principles Committee, a board supervising media ethics in all Doğan Holding-linked media outlets, including daily Hürriyet and the Hürriyet Daily News.

The Doğan Media Group will "maintain its impartiality" ahead of the upcoming referendum on shifting Turkey to an executive presidential system, Doğan Group Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan said during a regular meeting of the group's Editorial Policy Committee on March 23. 

The Istanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court has rejected the release demand of Doğan Group Ankara Administrative Representative Barbaros Muratoğlu, who has been under arrest on charges of "aiding an armed terrorist organization" as a part of an investigation into the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). 

Turkey's first digital TV platform, BluTV, celebrated its first anniversary on Jan. 23 at an event held at the Trump Towers Cinemaximum Movie Theaters, during which Turkey's first online TV series, "Masum" (Innocent), was also launched. 

The event was attended by Doğan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan, Doğan TV managers, "Masum" actors as well as press members and many guests. 

Prominent ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) figures gathered on Dec. 4 for the opening ceremony of  a museum-library named after Turkey's former President Abdullah Gül in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri.  

Democracy is our lifeblood and whatever the conditions are, we will stand by it, said Doğan Holding Honorary Chairman Aydın Doğan in an associations' federation meeting he attended on Nov. 20 in his hometown Gümüşhane in the northern Black Sea region.
