Some people are rather officious or dunderheaded to say the least. There are only a few people who become living monuments. Such people are the honor and pride of a society and must be treated accordingly.

2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate professor Aziz Sancar felt like a breath of fresh air.

Because he has kept his Turkish citizenship even though he has been living in the United States for many years. Because he mentions the gains of the republic at every opportunity. Because one of the values he prioritizes is "hard work."

Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate Aziz Sancar met with President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar in Ankara on Dec. 15, stating again that he will present his medal and certificate to the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.

Aziz Sancar is a Turkish-American scientist who on Dec. 10 received the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, shared with two other chemists. He was awarded for his work on human DNA.

Turkish scientist Aziz Sancar, the 2015 Nobel laureate in chemistry, is set to take his award to the mausoleum of Turkey's founding father, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in order to express his "indebtedness" to the modern republic, daily Hürriyet has reported. 

It was Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, during an evening at the residence of Turkey's ambassador in Stockholm. Ambassador Kaya Türkmen was speaking. Right beside him was Nobel Prize for Chemistry laureate Professor Aziz Sancar.  

Turkish scientist Aziz Sancar, the 2015 Nobel laureate in chemistry, received his prize at a ceremony held in Stockholm, on a day that Tunisia's National Dialogue Quartet were also presented their Nobel Peace Prizes in Oslo. 

Turkish Nobel Prize-winner Aziz Sancar condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin's "madnesses" as harmful to both Turkey and Russia, while speaking on Dec. 7.
