Istanbul Biennial to open on the weekend
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV ) and curated by Ute Meta Bauer, Amar Kanwar and David Teh, the 17th Istanbul Biennial will open to the public on Sept. 17, bringing together people and processes in a gathering of more than 50 projects, each the fruit of long-term research and collaboration.

The 49th Istanbul Music Festival kicked off on Aug. 18 with an opening ceremony and concert in Turkey's largest city.

15th Istanbul Biennial opens at weekend
The 15th Istanbul Biennial, entitled "A Good Neighbor" and curated by artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, opens to the public on Sept. 16.
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the event brings together artworks by 56 artists from 32 countries, all addressing different notions of home, belonging and neighborhood.

Istanbul helicopter crash: Four Russians among seven dead (Updated)
Seven people have been killed after s helicopter crashed on the outskirts of Istanbul, reportedly after hitting a television tower in fog.
The Sikorsky helicopter owned by a Turkish company was carrying four Russian guests, a Turkish executive and two pilots.
'Are we human?' questions Design Biennial
The third Istanbul Design Biennial, "Are We Human? : The Design of the Species : 2 seconds, 2 days, 2 years, 200 years, 200,000 years," will open this weekend with events around the city for the next month.

The most creative city on the Black Sea
Istanbul will be hosting two events on design.
One of the events is Design Week Turkey, which will take place for the first time between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23 under the direction of the Economy Ministry and Turkish Exporters' Assembly.
