Chinese brands increasing share in Turkish auto market
Chinese carmakers are fast increasing their share in the Turkish market, but subsidies the Chinese companies receive from their government may lead to unfair competition, warns Baran Çelik, the board chair of the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB).
Automotive exports top $3 billion in June
The Turkish automotive industry's exports grew by 9 percent year-on-year in June to more than $3 billion, according to the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB).
For a third time this year, monthly exports were above the $3 billion mark, said Baran Çelik, the board chair of OİB.

Automotive exports top $11 billion in January-April
Türkiye's automotive industry boosted its export revenues by 11 percent on an annual basis in the January-April period to $11.3 billion, the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB) has said.
Passenger car and bus, minibus exports registered double digit growth in April, according to Baran Çelik, board chair of the OİB.

Automotive industry targets $34 billion in exports this year
Türkiye's automotive industry aims to generate $34 billion in export revenues this year, the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB) has said.
"Despite the economic slowdown in Europe, our largest export market, and changes in demand conditions, we managed to increase our export revenues both in December and the whole of 2022," said Baran Çelik, president of the OİB.
Automotive sector’s exports hit $2 billion
The automotive exports increased by 3.5 percent in July from a year ago to stand at $2 billion, the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB) has said.
The industry's share in Türkiye's total export revenues was 11 percent, ranking second among the exporting sectors.

Automotive sector to be hit by Ukraine crisis ‘indirectly’
The Turkish automotive sector could be affected indirectly by the Russia-Ukraine conflict because of rising costs, according to professionals.
Turkey's exports to Russia, which hit $705 million last year, is not expected to be affected so far, Baran Çelik, the head of the Automotive Exporters Association (OİB), told daily Hürriyet.

The automotive sector leading Turkish exports for 15 years has posted the second-highest March figures this year, according to data released by an industrial group.
Automotive exports increased by 40 percent to $2.9 billion in March, the Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OİB) data showed.
