Four of the five Romanian players lined up at the European Table Tennis Championships in Warsaw on Thursday advanced to the round of 32 women's singles.

Romania's women's table tennis team qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Friday, after defeating India, 3-2, in the decisive match of the 2020 ITTF World Team Qualification Tournament in Gondomar (Portugal). The victory point was brought by Daniela Monteiro Dodean, who defeated Manika Batra, the best Indian player, 3-1 (11-8, 11-4, 3-11, 11-2).

Romania's women's team on Saturday qualified for the final of the ITTF European Table Tennis Championships in Nantes, France, after it defeated Poland's team in the semifinals, 3-1. Defending champion, team Romania will try to defend its title on Sunday in the final with the winner between Portugal and Hungary.

Romania's women's team defeated the Slovakian team by 3-0, on Wednesday, in Group 1 of the International Table Tennis Federation - ITTF European Championships, taking place in Nantes (France).

Romanian table tennis players Ovidiu Ionescu and Bernadette Szocs won the silver medals in the double mixed on Tuesday evening at the European Games in Minsk after being defeated by Germans Patrick Franziska / Petrisa Solja 3-0 (11-4, 11-4, 11-4).

The Romanian athletes have won on Monday the six qualification groups in the singles event of the 2019 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships.

Romania's Ovidiu Ionescu secured a medal in the men's singles event of the 2018 ITTF-European Table Tennis Championships in Alicante (Spain), after qualifying for the semifinals.
