Jazz lovers in Greece will now have their own annual music celebration. It will take place at the Petra Theater in Petroupoli on September 13, 14, and 15, hosting the Jazzét Festival – 1st Hellenic International Jazz Festival.

Belgian-French singer Viktor Lazlo, who has made unforgettable songs in her career, will meet music lovers for the first time in the Turkish capital Ankara on June 8 at CSO Ada Ankara with a repertoire of her most popular songs.

Lazlo is one of the names closely recognized by Turkish audiences.

Respected Greek singers Elli Paspala and Maria Farantouri will appear together on the stage of Pireos 131 for Paspala's last concert of the season dedicated to jazz music. They will present a program of popular tunes by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.

Celebrated American singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux visits Athens to perform music from her latest album, "Anthem." Born in the US state of Georgia and discovered in Paris, Peyroux has spent her career delighting fans across the globe, collaborating with big names in the music industry like Patrick Warren, Brian MacLeod and David Baerwald.

Every Saturday night through April 20, the Railway Carriage Theater (Treno sto Rouf), a music venue housed in an old wooden railway car, is hosting a tribute to Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong, with local act Jazz Express performing numbers popularized by the two jazz greats. Shows start at 9.30 p.m.

Acclaimed American jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux, hailed as a modern-day Billie Holiday, is coming to Greece for a single show at the Olympic Hall in Galatsi on Thursday, December 6. Part of a global tour, the show presents her latest studio achievement, "Anthem," made up mostly of original material, along with a few covers.

Alabama-born, Minnesota-raised vocalist Charmin Michelle pays tribute to Billie Holiday at the Half Note Jazz Club, where she is performing standards immortalized by the great Lady Day. Michelle's delivery has been hailed by critics as capturing the spirit of old-school jazz in a fresh manner, unadorned by nostalgia.

Damir Imamovic

The popular vocalist-guitarist from Sarajevo was born into a family of musicians including his grandfather, Zaim Imamovic, a sevdah legend from the mid-20th century.

The award-winning musician is also a researcher into sevdah, a musical form whose roots date back as far back as the 15th century.

Spanish-born singer Buika performs at the Herod Atticus Theater in Athens on Tuesday, September 20. Joining her on stage is the Athens State Orchestra, under the baton of Toni Cuenca. Born Maria Concepcion Balbona Buika in 1972, the artist has been compared to Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf. The event is set to start at 9 p.m. Prices for tickets range from 10 to 70 euros.
