Blagoevgrad. Minister of Culture Boil Banov has arrived in Blagoevgrad for a meeting with Mayor Atanas Kambitov and representatives of the initiative committee for preserving the archaeological finds along the path of Struma motorway near Pokrovnik, Focus Radio has reported. The meeting is also attended by Regional Governor Biser Mihaylov.

A joint exercise is to be conducted on Saturday in Southwestern Bulgaria, at the border with Greece and near the one in Macedonia, in light of potentially increasing migratory pressure.

The drill will be held in the region of Petrich, Sandanski and Kulata, the latter being a major border crossing point with Greece.

A 'counter-blockade' set up by Bulgarian transit truck drivers on the border with Greece has entered its fifth day in response to protests of Greek farmers who have kept key border crossings largely sealed off for nearly a month.

Greek authorities have not provided any information as to the timing of the blockade staged by farmers at the border with Bulgaria, according to the governor of Blagoevgrad, a Southeastern Bulgarian region.

No details have been submitted to local authorities in the border region despite promises from their Greek counterparts, Focus Radio quotes Governor Biser Mihaylov as saying.
