New Regulations on Seat Belts in Buses after Tragic Incident near Svoge

Sofia. Legislative texts on safety belts have been drafted and will be sent to the Parliament in September, Automobile Administration Agency Director Boyko Ranovski told Nova TV this morning. "The belt issue is very important, brought up after each serious accident, and there is no room for retreat anymore, the law must be changed," he said.

Drives in the Emergency Lane will be Fined with BGN 1000 and Three Months Without a License

A penalty of BGN 1,000 and 3 months of without license will be imposed for riding in the highway emergency strip. This is a significant change to the Road Traffic Act, approved at first reading by the Transport Committee in Parliament.

Changes are expected to be put to vote in plenary in September.

Probe Launched into Pile-Up on Bulgaria's Hemus Motorway

Prosecutors have started an investigation into the deadly pile-up that left 3 people dead and 14 injured (10 seriously) in a tunnel o the Hemus Motorway in Bulgaria.
