Prosecutor Dismisses Rape Complaint Against Famous Serbian Actor
The High Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade told BIRN on Tuesday that it has dismissed the criminal complaint against famous actor Branislav Lecic, who was accused of rape by actress Danijela Stajnfeld.
The Prosecutor's Office told BIRN that Stajnfeld's criminal complaint was dismissed "because there are no grounds for suspicion that the said criminal offense was committed".

He was one of at least 608 people convicted of sex crimes in Serbia between 2016 and 2020.
But eight years is more than many convicted rapists are jailed for in the Balkan country, where, according to a BIRN investigation of data for the last five years, half were sentenced to five years or less, five years being the minimum sentence under the law since 2017.

The well-known Serbian actor and politican Branislav Lecic has denied raping the actress Danijela Stajnfeld, the Belgrade Higher Prosecutor's Office told BIRN.
Lecic was summoned to the police to give a statement on accusations of rape dating to 2012. He spent several hours in the police station on Friday.

BELGRADE - 'I Defended Young Bosnia', a film written and directed by Srdjan Koljevic, premiered on Tuesday evening at Belgrade's Sava Center.
The cast and the crew were greeted with a long applause from the audience, which included many political and public figures, as well as colleagues from the film industry, who came to support this interesting and significant project.
