US intelligence services believe that individuals within the Ukrainian government approved the assassination of Darya Dugina, the daughter of the influential Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin.
The news was published by the New York Times, stating that the US denies any involvement in this attack.

According to the Russian media, it is Ukrainian citizen Bogdan Tsyganenko (42), who is suspected of being responsible, together with Natalya Vovk, for the bomb attack in which Darya Dugina was killed.
Tsyganenko, 44, arrived in Russia via Estonia on July 30 and left the country the day before the killing, the FSB said.

The sense of dread deepened Tuesday in Ukraine because of warnings that Russia may try to spoil the country's Independence Day holiday and mark the war's six-month point with intensified attacks.
