U.S. President Barack Obama on Feb. 13 condemned the "brutal and outrageous" execution-style murders of three Muslim students in North Carolina at the hands of a neighbor who espoused anti-religious views.

The families of three Muslim students shot dead by a white neighbor in the US said an emotional farewell to their loved ones Feb. 12, reiterating calls for the killings to be treated as a hate crime.
      

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has commented on the killings of three Muslim students in the United States, saying he hoped there was no racist motive behind the murders and calling for a joint attitude against Islamophobia.

Police have arrested a gunman in the killing of three Muslim students -- including a husband and wife -- in the university town of Chapel Hill in North Carolina, US news reports said Feb. 11.
