NEW YORK - Serbia has written to the UN Secretary General and the UN General Assembly president in response to a speech by Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Denis Becirovic in the UNGA in which he has levelled a series of unfounded and malicious accusations against Serbia and the Serbs, Tanjug learns.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday pledged to seek justice for slain Turkish American activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi and over 41,000 Gazan civilians, comparing the situation in Gaza to the notorious 1995 Srebrenica genocide.  

BELGRADE - In a reaction to accusations levelled against Serbia by Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Denis Becirovic, the Serbian MFA said on Thursday Becirovic had used a commemorative event to promote his anti-Serb programme, rather than to help reconciliation or enhance internal cohesion and political dialogue within his own country.

BELGRADE - Reacting to accusations levelled against Serbia by Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Denis Becirovic, Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday Serbia was no aggressor and that Becirovic's lies were eroding good-neighbourly relations.

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandar Vranjes on Wednesday to discuss current topics and affairs of mutual significance.

Djuric noted that Serbia wanted the best possible cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina and was fully committed to further deepening of political, economic, cultural and all other relations.

The Bosniak member of Bosnia's tripartite presidency, Denis Becirovic, has condemned the assembly of Republika Srpska, one of two entities in Bosnia, after it called on a state Constitutional Court judge, Zlatko Knezevic, to resign from his position.

Ljubljana – Faris Kočan, a researcher at the Centre of International Relations at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, believes the results of the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina available so far indicate time may have come for civic ideas as opposed to nationalism.

Denis Becirovic, the other lawmaker behind the proposal, said that because deputies from the main Bosnian Serb and Croat parties, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, and the Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, did not back the changes, it is now time for Inzko to step in and impose a solution.

Aleksic is suspected of rape and sexual abuse, and after the hearing, her lawyer Denis Becirovic said that the investigation was not open to the public and that the prosecutor issued an order not to disclose any information from the case.

The House of Peoples, the upper house of the Bosnian parliament, voted on Thursday against changing the criminal code of Bosnia and Herzegovina to criminalise the denial of genocide and war crimes.
