GERB has stated that they will not withdraw Raya Nazaryan's candidacy for Speaker of the 51st National Assembly, according to Deputy Denitsa Sacheva. Speaking to bTV, she emphasized that the outcome of the early elections is clear, and the election of the Parliament's Speaker will determine whether new elections are needed or if the country will move forward with a government.

GERB has made it clear that if Raya Nazaryan is elected Speaker of the National Assembly, she will not be placed on the list for acting Prime Minister, as long as she wishes to remain part of the party. GERB leader Boyko Borissov confirmed this stance during a briefing at the party headquarters, stating that the decision of the party's Executive Committee is firm on this matter.

GERB and DPS are seven votes short of forming a regular government. Tomorrow, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will decide whether to support the first mandate at a party executive bureau meeting, OFFNews reported.

Today marks the second day of the inaugural session of the 50th National Assembly, after failing to elect a speaker yesterday. Raya Nazaryan's candidacy garnered support from GERB, DPS, and Hristo Prodanov of BSP, totaling 116 votes initially. However, Prodanov voted "against" in the second round.

The "Greatness" (Velichie) party, led by Nikolay Markov, has declined an invitation from GERB for cabinet negotiations, insisting instead on a meeting directly with their leader, Boyko Borissov. Denitsa Sacheva, a member of GERB's negotiating team, confirmed that the scheduled meeting at 3 p.m.

"There Is Such a People" (TISP) sees an expert cabinet as the most suitable option, according to Toshko Yordanov's recent remarks regarding ongoing discussions with GERB about forming a government. Yordanov indicated that while GERB appears to be warming to the idea, nothing definitive has been decided yet, emphasizing the complexity of moving from concept to execution.

Negotiations between GERB and DPS to form a government began after a delay caused by disputes over seating arrangements in the plenary hall. Contrary to expectations, Delyan Peevski, co-chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), did not participate, in line with Boyko Borissov's decision not to lead the talks personally.

Negotiations between Bulgarian political parties GERB and "We Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) ended in failure, announced resigned Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel at a Sunday evening briefing.

In a recent development, Boyko Borissov has taken the helm as the chairman of the parliamentary group of GERB-SDS, as announced by the Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, at the group's meeting. This decision was reached during discussions among representatives from GERB SDS.
