A new housing project will be launched for widowed women, the Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık has announced.

Some 522 migrant children have been residing with Turkish foster families as of August, Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık has stated.

Peoples' Democracy Party (HDP) Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu submitted a parliamentary question regarding the number of migrant children given to foster families in the last five years.

Eight out of ten parents cut back on items such as eating out, entertainment and clothing in order to allocate resources for their children's school expenses in Türkiye, according to a survey conducted by Ipsos, a market research and consulting firm.

The government plans to launch a package to support the country's small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has said.

"We are working on a Treasury-backed package to support SMEs in need of collateral in line with the Türkiye Economy Model, which prioritize production, exports and employment," Nebati wrote on Twitter.

Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık stated Türkiye has various opportunities in terms of social benefits and social support. "We are one of the countries that are considered among the examples of developed social support. During the pandemic period around the world, including in developed countries, the mortality rate of the elderly people is between 31 and 84 percent.

Family and Social Services Ministry has made field visits to cities with high rates of early and forced marriages, has prepared reports and has given training, within the scope of the prevention of early marriages.

The number of the elderly people in Türkiye has risen by 24 percent in the last five years, the country's family and social services minister has said.
