The Bulgarian government has unveiled its ambitious plan for the 2024 budget: a minimum 5% real wage growth, matching the projected inflation rate. This bold move was the central theme of a recent high-level meeting, which saw Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov and Finance Minister Asen Vassilev engage with trade unions to chart a course for the country's fiscal future.

Yordanka Fandakova will propose to the Sofia City Council to adopt an agreement for lifting the salaries of the drivers in the public transport with 10% for three consecutive years, Econ.bg. The Mayor's proposal is after a meeting today with the leaders of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions and the Confederation of Labour ''Podkrepa''.

The President of the Confederation of Labour ''Podkrepa'' Dimitar Manolov will open the 18th annual conference of the Trade Union Network of the European capitals.

They will discuss the opportunities for transport and mobility on the Old Continent.

More than 30 organizations from 12 European cities will join the event.

Trade union Podkrepa will protect the Maritsa Iztok complex by all available means, union leader Dimitar Manolov said at the opening of a congress of the organisation 30 years after its establishment, Focus News Agency reports.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with heads of major trade unions in Bulgaria, Plamen Dimitrov and Dimitar Manolov and representatives of coal mining trade unions that a clear commitment from the state for the development of coal mining and the Bulgarian TPPs was necessary.

The main argument of the business is that the decision for higher income and the increase the maximum monthly amount of earnings used to calculate social security contributions was taken without the government to comply with the opinion of the employers, reports BNT. 

Head of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria, Plamen Dimitrov, has said that 70% of workers in Bulgaria receive below the average salary, BNR reported.

Bulgaria is at the bottom of the EU ranking by hourly-rate remuneration, with an average hourly wage of EUR 3.7, compared to an EU average of EUR 23.7 per hour, according to Eurostat data, as cited by local trade unions.
