Aegean is once again ‘Best Regional Airline in Europe’

Aegean Airlines has won the title of "Best Regional Airline in Europe" at the World Airline Awards 2024, for a 13th consecutive year and the 14th overall in its 25 years of operation.

It also held the second position among the best airlines in "World's Best Regional Airline 2024" and the third position in the ranking for "Best Airlines in Southern Europe 2024."

Aegean Airlines head is EY Entrepreneur of the Year

Aegean Airlines head Eftychis Vassilakis received this week the award for the Greek Entrepreneur of the Year by EY Greece.

This distinction means that Vassilakis will be Greece's representative at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year in June in Monte Carlo, along with winners from another 47 countries and territories.

Aegean CEO: Three conditions for sustainable tourism in Greece

Infrastructures, human resources and expanding the tourist season are the necessary preconditions for a sustainable development of tourism and of air transport in Greece, Dimitris Gerogiannis, CEO of Aegean Airlines, said on Monday.

He said infrastructures were extremely important for the sustainable development of tourism, of cities and of the country in general.

Aegean breaks passenger traffic record

Greece's largest carrier Aegean Airlines flew 15 million passengers last year, a record for the 20-year old airline, and boosted its load factor, it said on Friday.
Aegean, a member of the Star Alliance airline group, said overall passenger traffic grew 7 percent in 2019 with its load factor increasing to 84.8 percent from 83.9 percent a year earlier.

Aegean raises seat availability by 6-7 percent

Aegean Airlines may have its sights fixed on this summer season, but it is also making long-term plans that will give the carrier increased flexibility.

Oversubscribing the bond it issued early last month is one of the weapons in its management's arsenal, strengthening the firm's negotiating position as it discussed the funding of the new aircraft delivery with its creditors.
