The Olympic medal, designed by Elena Votsi for the 2004 Olympic Games, was decided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to consistently feature one of its sides for many years to come.

The Goulandris Museum of Contemporary Art on the Cycladic island of Andros is hosting a big retrospective exhibition on one of the important Greek painters of the 20th century, Dimitris Mytaras, who died last year aged 83.

"He was always happy when he was painting and standing like a bird in front of the easel," Harikleia Mytara once told me of her husband's love for his art. Our conversation took place a few days before his death at the age of 83 in February 2017, after years of suffering from multiple ailments.
