Johann Strauss' "Die Fledermaus" (The Bat) is more than a 19th-century classic about masked characters caught in a farce; the operetta is a mirror to our modern world, where people hide behind extravagant personas instead of digital screens, director Yannis Skourletis told Kathimerini.

Finally, as Emilia Marty in Prague in 1922, she decides to take her fate into her own hands.

In his production for the Greek National Opera, the setting is Rome in World War II, focusing on the element of violence and sadism.
