Bulgaria: National Protest of Relatives of those Killed and Injured in Car Accidents

Mothers of pedestrians killed on the road and injured in car accidents are organizing a national protest from 11 a.m. in front of the National Assembly building in Sofia. They will be joined by residents of the metropolitan district "Ilinden". Last night they gathered for the sixth night in a row at the scene of the accident that killed Yavor and Annie.

Bulgaria: Masks will be Mandatory in Hospitals in Cities with many COVID Cases

The Ministry of Health will today order the regional health inspectorates (RHI) to issue a prescription for the wearing of protective masks in medical facilities in the cities with the highest incidence of COVID-19. This was announced by the chief state health inspector Angel Kunchev, quoted by BTA.

‘’Slaveykov’’ Book Market Return DELAYED

The book market on ''Slaveykov'' Square will return to its place after the huge reconstruction of the whole space together with ''Graf Ignatiev'' Street.

The key question for now is when this will happen. Obviously, the return of the books will be delayed and until now the Sofia Municipality has no specific deadline.

Part of Bulgaria Blvd. is Closed For Repair - See What are the Changes in the Traffic

The repair of ''Bulgaria'' Boulevard in Sofia has started. Serious traffic reorganization is provided. The movement of some public transport lines will be also changed.

During the first week of the repair it is planned that most of the traffic will continue to pass along the southern part of the boulevard, explained Sofia Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov.

Part of the Repairs in Downtown Sofia are Postponed

The repair of two of the central streets in Sofia - Tsar Shishman and September 6 - will be postponed indefinitely. They had to be renewed within the framework of the contract between the municipality and the GP Group for the reconstruction of Graf Ignatiev Street and its adjacent squares - so-called zone 2.

The Longest Trolleybus Route in Sofia is Expected to be Launched in April

In April, the longest trolleybus route in Sofia is expected to be launched - 14 km. The infrastructure is now being built on Fridtjof Nansen Blvd, Cherni Vrah Blvd and Arsenalski Blvd. The trolley will be number 7 and will move from  "Lyulin" to "Manastirski livadi" quarter. The new trolley line replaces tram number 6.
