Turkey wins bronze medal in CEV Women's EuroVolley
Turkey defeated the Netherlands in straight sets on Sept. 4 in a bronze-medal game of the CEV Women's EuroVolley.

Turkey eliminated in CEV EuroVolley 2021 semifinals
Concluding their quest for the European crown, the Turkish women's volleyball team on Sept. 3 got eliminated in the semifinals of the CEV EuroVolley 2021, losing to Serbia 3-1.

Serbia struggled against Turkey at the beginning but in the end came out on top, winning the match with 32-34, 28-26, 25-23, and 25-13 sets at Stark Arena in the capital Belgrade.
Turkey beats Russians in final volleyball group game
The Turkish women's national volleyball team on Aug. 2 fought hard to beat the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) 3-2 in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics preliminary round Pool B match to complete the group phase.

Over 100 athletes to represent Turkey in Summer Olympics
The long-delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, slated for July 23-Aug. 8, will host more than 100 Turkish athletes in 18 branches.
Representing Turkey in the 2020 Summer Olympics that will be held in Tokyo, Japan will be 108 athletes - the largest-ever Olympic team from the country after 114 athletes in the London 2012 Summer games.
Fenerbahçe’s Vargas becomes Turkish citizen
Turkish volleyball club Fenerbahçe Opet's Cuban-born player Melissa Vargas was granted Turkish citizenship on April 10.
In a statement, Fenerbahçe said Melissa Teresa Vargas Abreu, 21, was given her Turkish identity card by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the Turkish Volleyball Federation's application for Vargas had been confirmed.

Turkish volleyball player named to FIVB Roster 100
Fenerbahçe Opet Women's Volleyball team star Eda Erdem Dündar was named one of the 100 greatest players, International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced on Feb. 4.
"A girl who discovers her self-worth and self-esteem can fearlessly chase her dreams," Dündar said on FIVB's website.

Turkish women’s volleyball team grabs ticket to Tokyo
Turkey snatched a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after winning the women's CEV European continental qualifier.
In Jan. 12's grand finale, the Turks delivered a straight-set victory over Germany, symbolizing their right to compete at the Games in the Japanese capital.
Turkish women on road to get Tokyo ticket
The Turkish women's volleyball team on Jan. 10 won against Belgium 3-2 in a tie-breaker to qualify for the CEV European qualification semifinals for the 2020 Olympic Games.
Turkey led the first two sets 25-20 and 25-15, a great advantage to win the match in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, but the Belgians managed to equalize, winning the third and fourth sets, 25-20 and 25-22.
