Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Enis Berberoğlu was arrested on the order of the government, CHP head Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has said, describing the arrest "as the most concrete evidence" of judicial interference by the executive power in Turkey. 

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP)'s "justice march" from Ankara to Istanbul is continuing amid an escalating war of words between party chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the government, with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım blasting the march as "non-national."

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has once again slammed the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's 350-km "justice march" from Ankara to Istanbul, describing it as a "non-national march". 

"I am walking every centimeter," said main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on June 25, responding to speculation that he is traveling some of the distance of his "justice march" in his party bus.

The main opposition leader has stressed that his "justice march" only aims to bring judicial fairness to Turkey, saying he is sincere in his call in response to criticism from the ruling and nationalist opposition parties on the 11th day of his march from Ankara to Istanbul. 

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has said that he wants a Turkey free of tension. 

"Turkey has suffered and has been suffering from tensions. I wish for a Turkey that we can get rid of tensions," Kılıçdaroğlu said in the western province of Bolu on the 10th day of his party's "justice march."

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has decided to limit its criticism of the main opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) "justice march" in the coming period. 

The United States is concerned over Turkey's actions against opposition, U.S. State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert has said. 

When asked to comment on the arrest of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul lawmaker Enis Berberoğlu, Nauert said that "they are trying to gather information."

Imprisoned main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul lawmaker Enis Berberoğlu's lawyers have appealed to the Constitutional Court over his imprisonment. 

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has slammed Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli after the latter accused the CHP leader of supporting the U.S. based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is believed to have been the mastermind of the July 15, 2016, coup attempt.
